I’m doing some housekeeping on this long weekend, and rounding up photos from my hoop journey has been a priority. Here are some snaps from opening day 2012 in Portland, which nicely coincided with Halloween! Portland turned out to be one of the nicer surprises during my travels.

Another playoff game photo gallery from last season; this one taken from the Celts- Hawks series. I didn’t realize how many fans come in costume at the TD Northbank Center Garden (or whatever it’s called these days). It made for pretty awesome people watching:

Reggie Miller and Chris Mullin, two Hall of Famers and former teammates laughing it up before the game.
With the Knicks about to head into game 7 of a crucial playoff series, I thought it was time to update my post from last year’s Knicks-Heat playoff game (the first playoff series the Knicks had been in since the 1990s). The Heat won the game, but the Knicks had all the celebs in place.

More from my East Coast swing. This started with an Allman Brothers show at the Beacon theater in New York, then a train ride to Philly to see the Knicks stomp all over the Sixers and finally, a flight to Toronto to watch the Raptors take on the Knicks. A detour on the way to catch my flight back to London took me to Niagra Falls, of all places. Keep scrolling down to check out the once in a lifetime vista I got to witness.
A full hour's worth of haggling got me a pretty decent spot at the Wells Fargo Arena in Philly, home of the best food in the NBA, hands down.
A formidable collection of Philly greats, including my all time favorite NBA player and childhood hero, Julius "Dr. J" Erving
Knicks fans in slight disarray. They were the vocal majority that night.

Here are some pics from my trip that kicked off on March 18th. I started by hitting two second round NCAA Tourney games in Greensboro, NC and then a trip to Charlotte on the 19th to see the putrid Bobcats play the Sixers. I have two uber-cool cousins working on graduate degrees, one at Duke and the other at UNC Chapel Hill. How could I resist visiting both campuses?
Alaa Abdelnaby and I are now the only two Arabs to tip off at Duke.
